Our assets under management are intentionally limited to correspond with the anticipated availability of top-tier private equity investment opportunities. MFPE has been able to be extremely selective in both direct and partnership investment decisions.

Partnership
MFPE is able to make approximately equal commitment amounts to each partnership selected for investment and does not face undue pressure to create a large dispersion in investment amounts between different partnerships – a characteristic which may be associated with very large partnership fund managers. This risk management tool enables MFPE to:

• More precisely control portfolio construction
• Prudently manage investment exposure to individual private equity managers
• Offer our investors access to only the top private equity funds

Direct
Given the deal flow from both the Mesirow Financial network and from the MFPE partnership funds, we are able to create a large opportunity set of high-quality transactions, many of which have been pre-qualified by our partners.

Unlike larger funds, MFPE does not have the pressure to deploy capital too quickly and therefore is able to patiently select the most attractive transactions.
