Sarah Chodera is Mesirow Chief Marketing Officer. In this capacity, she leads the firm’s overall marketing and communications strategy and execution, aligning activity with the broader strategy of the firm and capitalizing on new and traditional media channels to drive an integrated and modern client experience. Functional areas of responsibility include brand strategy and management, marketing technology, executive and corporate communications, media relations, thought leadership, channel and product marketing and events.
Prior to joining Mesirow in 2019, Sarah was Senior Managing Director and Head of Marketing, Advertising & Brand at Nuveen, where she was a voting member of the firm’s Advisory Services Product Committee. Before that, Sarah spent 14 years as Head of Retail and Institutional marketing at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where she built the firm’s first robust retail and institutional marketing platforms and coached 50+ of GSAM’s top clients on their approach to brand and marketing through Goldman Sachs’ Strategic Advisory Services.
Sarah serves on the Development and Advancement Committee at Science & Arts Academy and is a member of P.E.O. International, a philanthropic organization that advances the education of women through scholarships, grants, awards and loans. She was named one of Crain's Notable Women Executives Over 50 in 2020.
Sarah earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Carleton College and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Chicago.
