Mark Whitaker is a Senior Vice President in Mesirow Institutional Sales and Trading. He performs research and trading for municipal securities.

Mark has thirteen years of financial markets experience and eight years in municipal credit research. Prior to joining Mesirow, Mark was a municipal bond research analyst at Northern Trust Asset Management, where he provided fundamental credit research with a focus on healthcare and tobacco. Mark has been a speaker and panelist at multiple industry conferences including Debtwire, KBRA, InvestorTools and CMAS covering topics such as municipality distress, security structures and healthcare.

Mark earned a Bachelor of Science in finance and business education from Illinois State University. He is a CFA® charterholder. Mark is a member of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts, Chicago Municipal Analyst Society and the CFA Society Chicago.
