At Mesirow, during Pride Month in June and every day, we celebrate the accomplishments of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) community in society and in the workplace as we also acknowledge the work still to be done for equity.
Our firm’s Connect Pledge—a promise by employees to serve as allies and accomplices for all marginalized groups—has its roots in our PrideConnect Employee Resource Group, and I applaud the grassroots leadership of employees who inspire us all to do better each day.
As our Pledge states: “Together, Mesirow employees are on a journey to build awareness of difference and of the varied privileges we all have, to educate ourselves around others’ lived experiences, to learn and engage, and to speak out for marginalized communities and against those that diminish someone’s authentic self.”
This June, following our firm's celebrations of Black History Month in February, Women’s History Month in March and Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month in May, we are proud to partner with Center on Halsted, Out in Finance, Free Mom Hugs and Chill Meditation as we host a series of virtual events for employees and the community.
We look forward to gathering virtually as we mark Pride Month, celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of the LGBTQ community and continue to facilitate awareness, respect and inclusion throughout our firm.
