Mental Health Awareness Month

As you may know, May is Mental Health Awareness Month, during which advocacy organizations and health professionals across the country raise awareness about this important matter.

Each year, the goal is to fight stigma, provide support, educate the public, and advocate for policies that support people with mental illness and their families.

The topic of mental health is one that I feel strongly about. In the current environment, open discussion around mental health takes on even greater urgency as we manage unexpected changes and challenges in our lives. The truth is that the majority of us will face challenges in life that impact our mental health and emotional wellbeing, and I believe it is important to seek out help when that is needed.

Leadership at Mesirow is are focused on ensuring that our people have all the right tools and resources. As part of that effort, you will soon be receiving an invitation to an online Stress Management Series delivered by professionals at Loyola University Medical School. These 30-minute sessions will provide adaptive strategies and techniques for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

We encourage you, as well as members of your family, to take advantage of this online series, and to keep in mind the resources available to you through The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) .

We are thinking of you and your families, and wish you continued good health.
