Sumit Desai is a Managing Director and Director of Research in Mesirow Wealth Management. He serves on the Wealth Management Investment Committee and is responsible for due diligence and ongoing monitoring of equity, fixed income and global allocation funds for implementation into client portfolios.

Sumit has 23 years of investment industry experience. Prior to joining Mesirow in 2017, he spent 12 years at Morningstar, Inc., where he held senior analyst positions in the firm’s mutual fund and equity research groups. Sumit is a frequent speaker on the WGN radio show “Your Money Matters” with host Jon Hansen and a member of the Mesirow Speakers Bureau. These recognized subject area experts provide perspective on the markets and what is top of mind for institutional and individual investors.

Sumit earned a Bachelor of Arts in Finance and Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst^® designation and is a member of the CFA Society Chicago.
