Mehryar Emambakhsh is a Vice President and Senior Research Scientist at Mesirow Currency Management, where he focuses on research and model development within the Alpha and Macro strategies team, with a particular emphasis on applying machine learning techniques to systematic FX strategies.

He brings a broad technical and algorithmic background across sequential data domains, including time series analysis, signal processing, spatiotemporal computer vision, and robotics. He has authored and presented extensively, with publications in leading journals and conferences such as IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence and IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing.

With approximately 14 years of experience, Mehryar most recently worked at Cortexica Vision Systems Limited (now part of Zebra Technologies) as a Research Scientist, where he designed and implemented deep learning and Bayesian algorithms for computer vision applications.

Mehryar has four years of post-doctoral research experience and holds a PhD in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from the University of Bath, along with an MSc in Electrical Engineering (Telecommunications).
