Steve Simon is a Vice President in Mesirow Investment Banking. He is responsible for developing key relationships, leading the day-to-day transaction execution process and providing advisory services on middle-market M&A assignments within the aerospace and defense and industrial sectors.

Prior to joining Mesirow, Steve served as an Associate at Lincoln International within the Capital Advisory Group. Before that, he was an Associate at PwC. Steve has also worked with several startups across a wide range of industries, including commercial space, aerospace and defense, data analytics, food and beverage, consumer products and industrial technologies.

Steve has written and presented several whitepapers on the law and economics of the commercial outer space industry, including for the International Astronautical Congress, the Global Space Exploration Conference, the Cyrus Institute of Knowledge and the peer-reviewed journal Acta Astronautica.

 Steve earned a Bachelor of Arts in Ancient Studies from Washington University in St. Louis, a Master of Science in Accountancy from Bentley University, a Juris Doctorate from Northwestern University’s Pritzker School of Law and a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He holds FINRA Series 63 and 79 licenses as well as a National Association of Rocketry certification for high-powered rocketry.
