Mikiyon Alexander is a Managing Director in Mesirow Public Finance. With over 20 years of experience in investment banking, credit analysis, and structured finance, Mikiyon specializes in municipal finance, economic development and complex debt structuring.
Prior to joining Mesirow, Mikiyon worked at Momentus Securities, where he led investment banking coverage. He advised, structured and underwrote corporate, municipal, and project finance debt structuring and served as the registered principal for both the firm's municipal securities and advisory services. He also works with investment banking teams on a variety of transactions and managed the day-to-day aspects of client relationships and transactions.
Prior to Momentus, Mikiyon worked at Barclays, where he focused primarily on bond offerings for state housing finance agencies, mission-driven organizations, government entities, and affordable housing developers. Earlier in his career, Mikiyon held leadership roles in credit analysis and structured finance at Fitch Ratings and S&P Global Ratings. Mikiyon’s experience spans public finance, structured securities, and credit markets, with a focus on innovation, regulatory navigation, and client relationship development.
Mikiyon is based in the New York Tri-State Area and holds Series 79, 52, 50, 54, 53 and 63 licenses.
