Shane McDaniel is a Managing Director in Mesirow Investment Banking. He is responsible for developing key relationships, leading deal teams throughout the transaction process and providing advisory services on middle-market M&A assignments within the technology and services sector.

Shane has devoted his career to serving institutional investors including prominent venture capital and private equity firms, as well as entrepreneurs, founders and executive management teams as an investment banker, principal investor and strategic advisor.  Prior to joining Mesirow in 2018, he spent several years on the West Coast as a senior banker with Raymond James’ Technology & Services investment banking group. He was also a member of Piper Sandler’s Minneapolis and Chicago-based M&A group where he advised private equity clients on a range of corporate finance transactions in several industries. Before that, he helped establish and expand two Chicago-based boutique M&A advisory firms. He began his career in financial services with Citi Capital Strategies (a division of Citigroup®) and Arthur Andersen’s Corporate Finance Group. 

Shane earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. He holds FINRA Series 7, 63 and 79 licenses.
