Mesirow recently provided a £430 million lease-backed financing package across 3 portfolios of Care Homes to a privately owned commercial real estate sponsor in the United Kingdom. The client was seeking acquisition financing for a total of 36 Care Homes split between 3 portfolios, implementing a unique structure whereby a long-term lease is structured with backing from His Majesty’s Government of Gibraltar to provide credit support for the financing. The thirty-five-year, fully amortizing, single tranche loans received an A- rating from S&P and were placed with both UK and US based investors.
