Ketan Shah serves as Mesirow Chief Strategy Officer and General Counsel. In his role as Chief Strategy Officer, Ketan works closely with CEO Natalie Brown, Mesirow’s Board of Directors as well as Business and Corporate leaders to develop and implement the firm’s strategic growth plan. He also oversees Investment Banking, Wealth Management, Fiduciary Solutions and Human Resources.

In his capacity as General Counsel, Ketan leads Mesirow’s legal team and is responsible for overseeing Mesirow’s worldwide legal affairs, including corporate and regulatory matters, mergers and acquisitions, litigation, and other general legal matters.

He is also a member of Mesirow’s Board of Directors and serves on several Mesirow committees.

Prior to assuming the role of General Counsel, Ketan served as Associate General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel. Before joining Mesirow, Ketan spent several years as a corporate attorney at Kirkland & Ellis, focusing on M&A and related matters. Before becoming an attorney, Ketan was an auditor with Deloitte, and is a certified public accountant (inactive). 

Ketan earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, magna cum laude, from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Northwestern University’s School of Law.
